Sometimes we have no trouble bringing our burdens to God—but we struggle to receive His blessings.

We wonder if we've done enough to deserve rest. We feel guilty enjoying a vacation, a good meal, a peaceful evening, or time with people we love. Somewhere along the way, we begin believing that joy must be earned instead of received.

But Scripture tells a different story.

James reminds us that every good and perfect gift comes from above. The beauty of a sunset. The laughter of a child. A meaningful friendship. A peaceful night's sleep. These aren't distractions from God's work—they're reminders of His goodness.

Receiving God's gifts with gratitude honors the Giver.

Tonight, allow yourself to slow down, breathe deeply, and thank God for the blessings He's placed in your life. Joy isn't something to apologize for. It's one more way to worship the One who gives generously.

"Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights..."

— James 1:17
